Last year's service of remembrance in Stone at the war memorial in Granville Square

People in Stone have been asked to remember those who gave their lives for us at the town’s service of remembrance this year.

This year’s remembrance parade and service will be held in Stone on Sunday 13th November.

The parade will proceed up the High Street at 10.30am to the war memorial in Granville Square, where there will be a presentation of wreaths, two minutes’ silence at 11am and a service of remembrance.

The parade will then head to St Michael & St Wulfad’s Church, where another service will be held, before returning to Market Square for the salute to be taken by town mayor Cllr June Price and the Deputy Lieutenant.

  • A remembrance service will also be held on Sunday 13th November at Walton War Memorial in Whitemill Lane, with people asked to assemble at 9.40am for a service at 9.50am
  • A short ceremony will also be held on Friday 11th November at 11am at the war memorial in Granville Square. Traffic will be halted and a bugler will sound the last post and reveille.
