A new 33-mile running event will be taking place in Stone in May, following the Stone Circles Challenge footpaths around the town and passing through 10 different villages.

The Stones Ultra is for ultra-runners, but also for less adventurous runners too. If 33 miles isn’t your thing, you can enter as a three-person, mixed-sex team and run it as a relay.

The event on Saturday 21st May is being organised by Gold Events and will also be raising money for the Douglas Macmillan Hospice. The Stones Ultra starts and finishes at Wedgwood Cricket Club, taking in Swynnerton, Yarnfield, Milwich, Salt, Fulford, Tittensor and more.

The Mapometer website reckons you’ll burn over 15,000 calories if you do the full 33 miles, but don’t worry, there’ll be frequent refreshment stations on the course, plus numerous checkpoints.

For more information – and to enter online – see the Stones Ultras page. And you can see the full route HERE
