Julie Tighe and Claire Bourne are the partners behind the new business called Julie’s Kitchen, which has opened its doors serving breakfasts at The Lamb Inn on Eccleshall Road.
Julie has a background in catering and the NHS, while Claire has previously had baking businesses and is someone who enjoys crafting. They have both lived in Stone for many years and have been friends for some time.
Julie told A Little Bit of Stone:
“I decided to open the business after feeling I needed a change and a new challenge. We have been open for a little while now and serve breakfasts made to order, from simple scrambled eggs on toast to a full English, we have something for everyone’s breakfast needs.
Even if it’s just a drink and a piece of cake, customers can pop in for a coffee or tea and we aim to be a place that’s warm and friendly.”
Although starting out with breakfasts, the pair told us about their future plans:
“With Claire’s excellent crafting skills, we plan on running regular craft evenings on a Wednesday. Keep an eye on our Facebook page for details of these when we launch them.”
“We can also be booked for outside catering, for events and special occasions, give us a try.”
“We work well together because we have different skills but we share the same vision,” Claire said. “We want to create a cosy and welcoming atmosphere where people can enjoy great food and great company.”
Julie’s Kitchen is currently open from Friday to Sunday from 8.30am to 12.00pm, but this may change depending on demand.
Customers can pre-order their food and can also take away if they don’t wish to dine in.
Parking is free for visitors, simply put your car registration number into the screen inside the pub.
Customers can find out more information about Julie’s Kitchen on their Facebook page or by visiting The Lamb Inn.
