Staff gathered outside the hotel to mark the moment, and celebrate the project crossing the finish line.

The device is now fixed to the exterior wall near the main entrance just off the A34. It adds another publicly accessible defibrillator to the Stone area, something residents and local organisations have been steadily working to improve.
Community effort behind the installation
The hotel team said they had been trying to raise the funds for a long time, relying on donations and small events to move things forward.
In a statement they shared,
“We are beyond thrilled to announce that, thanks to the incredible support of our community, we now have a defibrillator available for use.
For years, we have been working together to raise the funds needed to provide this life-saving piece of equipment, and today, we can proudly say that our efforts have paid off.
This achievement would not have been possible without the generosity, dedication, and hard work of each and every one of you. Whether you donated, volunteered, or spread the word, your contribution has made a lasting impact.
This defibrillator will help ensure that our community is safer, and that we have the tools to respond in case of an emergency.”
Staff described the installation as a milestone for the hotel and wider area, particularly given the the hotels location.
A useful addition for visitors and residents
With the hotel hosting weddings, conferences and regular dining guests, the team said they hope the newly installed device will offer reassurance for visitors as well as those living nearby.
The hotel added,
“Thank you for believing in this cause, and for making it a reality. We are forever grateful for your kindness and support.”
The device will remain accessible at all hours. Its exact location has been listed on national defibrillator maps to help emergency call handlers direct people to it when needed.
