Mrs Kerri Fenton has been appointed as the new headteacher at Pirehill First School, bringing 16 years of experience and a passion for inclusive education.

Mrs Fenton, who has worked in education for 16 years and spent almost 11 as a deputy headteacher, said she was “absolutely delighted” to be taking on the role.
“I am absolutely delighted to introduce myself as the new Headteacher of Pirehill First School. It is a true privilege to join such a vibrant and dedicated school community and I am excited to work with the students, staff, and families to continue building on the school’s excellent reputation,” she said.
She added that her focus is on creating “a nurturing, inclusive, and stimulating environment where every child can flourish, feel valued, and reach their full potential.”
A focus on children and families
In her message to families and the wider Stone community, Mrs Fenton shared her belief that strong partnerships between home and school are central to a child’s success.
“My approach is rooted in the belief that every child should feel supported, inspired, and empowered to become the best version of themselves, both academically and personally,” she said.
Mrs Fenton also highlighted the importance of collaboration and kindness within school life, promising to continue building a culture of mutual respect and support.
Looking to the future
The new head is keen to listen to ideas and feedback from parents, carers, and the community as she settles into her role.
“I look forward to working closely with the talented and dedicated team of staff, as well as with parents and carers, to build upon the great work already happening here and to introduce new opportunities for our students to thrive,” she said.
