Over £4,000 was raised at the fundraiser for Phoebe Moon, the little girl from Stone who is currently receiving chemotherapy for leukaemia.
Five-year-old Phoebe, who is registered blind, was recently diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL). The fundraiser at Meaford Fields Day Nursery on Saturday (7th December) was organised by Phoebe’s godmother Karen Jones and nursery owner Adele Cheadle. And Phoebe and her mum and dad Karen and Mark even put in a surprise appearance.
The final amount raised is not yet known, and may even top £5,000.
Part of the money raised has been used to transform the garden at Phoebe’s family home in Swynnerton into a winter wonderland with lights, reindeer and more. Thanks to Karen for these photos of Phoebe’s sister Kiki when she saw the lights – let’s hope Phoebe was just as excited!
All the other money raised – and that is continuing to be raised – will go to Birmingham Children’s Hospital and Ronald McDonald House, where Phoebe’s parents initially stayed while their daughter underwent her initial chemotherapy.
There was face painting, cake sales, tombolas, raffles and lots more. Dozens of local people and businesses rallied round to donate raffle prizes and more.
