A group of pals from Stone will be cycling coast-to-coast from Whitehaven in the Lake District to Sunderland in the North East to raise money for the Donna Louise Trust.
Drew White, Simon Nevitt, Justin Perry, David Barber, Bryn Holmes, Richard Cook and Lawrence Foster will be completing the three-day, 120-mile test of endurance between 9th and 11th September.
They hope to raise £2,000 for the Donna Louise Trust, who provide a range of specialist care and support services for children with a shortened life expectancy and their families in Staffordshire.
Drew White said: “This is a story of middle-aged men refusing to let their beer bellies get the better of them in order to raise money for charity and prove that they are still vaguely fit. We plan to cycle from Whitehaven in the Lake District to Sunderland in the oop-north.
“Along the way we will face challenges such as hills, big hills, really big hills and saddle sores. We will wear Lycra mankinis, carbo-load on pie and chips and refuel at local inns along the route!”
