A St George’s Day celebration will see medieval knights return to Stone High street, plus a competition for best child’s fancy dress, and the chance to walk with the knights in the parade.
Saturday April 23rd will see the town centre host the much-loved knight’s parade at 1pm, heading down to the Market Square, led by Saint George on horseback. Once in the Market Square, the Black Knights will fight Saint George and his men in front of the assembled crowd.
The theme for the fancy dress competition is knights, damsels, & dragons, with a £25 prize up for grabs for the winner.
As usual, the Stone Town Council Market will also be taking place at the top of the High St.
Stone Town Councillor Jill Hood said:
“We’re looking forward to seeing the knights once again in town on St George’s Day after last year’s even being delayed due to the pandemic. Come along to the Market Square and cheer on your favourites in the battle between Saint George and the Black Knights”.
