Hot on the heels of its hugely successful inaugural production of A Chorus Line at Hanley’s Mitchell Arts Centre recently, Stone Youth Theatre is back rehearsing at Rooftop Studios for another busy season which will see the formation of its much-anticipated performance troupe.
Formed from the same pool of talented youngsters who recently received such widespread acclaim from audiences and local media alike during the run at the centre, the troupe will be available for hire to perform at showcase events or private parties. Any business, charity or society wishing to hire the troupe for their function will be asked for a donation towards the Youth Theatre’s running costs.
Studio director Laura Keeling says: “Stone Youth Theatre is a non-profit organisation and while there is no fixed fee to hire the troupe, donations of any size will be most welcome. Businesses or groups hiring the troupe will not only be getting a great performance courtesy of some very talented individuals trained by professional artists, they will also be supporting a local initiative and helping youngsters take another step toward fulfilling their dreams.”
As well as forthcoming troupe performances, preparations are under way for the Youth Theatre’s next production of renowned musical Rent, which will take place later this year.
