Tell our readers about yourself:

I was born and educated in Stone and now work locally as a teacher, therefore I am aware of the needs of the local people and would listen and act upon your concerns, particularly in this current time. Stone is a wonderful place to live with a great and rich variety of facilities, clubs, open spaces and events, these need to be maintained and extended which will be a challenge with the rapid growth of the town.

What’s your personal statement about why you’re standing and what you want to do over the next 4 years:

If elected I would campaign to restrict further housing developments in the town and an improved transport infrastructure. I would support improved car parking and public transport facilities by using revenues specifically for these schemes. I also would want to continue, and extend the good work of the Town Council in promoting both tourism and initiatives to create vibrancy and integration within the town with community events, street markets and festivals that make Stone a destination town, bringing income and potential job creation. I would endorse free wifi in the Town area and promote youth activities to engage our younger and also lonely members of the community.

How does standing as a political party candidate affect serving local people on local issues?

All democracy deserves a critical friend to check decisions being made, promote new initiatives and represent differences within the community. Likewise, the electorate of Walton need candidates that match their own values and beliefs, thus I allow a choice at the ballot box.
