A Charity Cricket Match in memory of Phil ‘Skinny’ James earlier this summer, organised by the James Family from Stone, has raised £4,002 to support the children, young people and families who rely on the services of The Donna Louise Hospice.
The cricket match, held at Stone Cricket Club, was a great family day out and also included a raffle, cake sale and BBQ.
Daisy Franklin, Relationship Manager at The Donna Louise, commented: “I would like to thank Celia James and her family for holding this event and everyone who played and donated prizes for the day in memory of Phil James.
The money raised will make a huge difference in helping to support families who rely on The Donna Louise, and is enough to fund respite stays for three families.
Daisy continues; “The Donna Louise relies almost entirely on the support of the local community to offer a wide range of care services to hundreds of families across Staffordshire and South Cheshire. Without the support of people like Celia, we simply would not be able to continue offering our services. So, a huge thank you to Celia, and to everyone who supported the event.”
