A fairytale wedding dress ball to celebrate the end of a little girl’s cancer treatment raised almost £13,000 for four charities that have supported and helped the family over the last two-and-a-half years.
The event took place at Keele Hall on Saturday night (16th April) and saw guests donning their wedding dresses to raise £12,800 on the night, and the final total may well be even higher.

Phoebe Moon from Yarnfield was diagnosed with leukaemia in 2013. After two-and-a-half years, her treatment finally came to an end earlier this year. The family wanted to raise money for charities that had supported them so much: Molly Olly’s Wishes, the Donna Louise Children’s Hospice, When You Wish Upon A Star and Calum’s Cabin. There is more information about each charity HERE.
And here’s a wonderful video that was played at the ball on Saturday night:
Phoebe’s mum Karen said: ““Phoebe finished her treatment at the end of March and we wanted to give something back to the charities that have touched our hearts. Phoebe loves to dance and always talks about her wedding day! So a charity wedding dress ball was so appropriate and special for my princess!”
The big event at Keele Hall was organised by Joanna Brookes, Karen’s sister.

We had a golden raffle, live and silent auctions, casino tables, a photo booth and lots more. Two coaches took quite a few of the guests, so everyone was very merry and enjoyed dancing the night away!
“It was a real celebration, of the end of Phoebe’s treatment, and of the charities that have provided so much support over the last few years.”[/box]
After a three-course meal, a video was played of Phoebe singing Ellie Goulding’s ‘How Long Will I Love You?’ that had been recorded at the Donna Louise Children’s Hospice.
The final song of the night was one of Phoebe’s favourites: Christina Perri’s ‘A Thousand Years’. Everyone formed a circle, with Phoebe dancing away in the middle. It was a magical end to a magical evening.
