Plan for Walton housing resubmitted

An artist’s impression of the planned development in Walton

Taylor Wimpey is resubmitting a planning application for up to 92 homes on farmland off Eccleshall Road in Walton – and has appealed against the decision earlier this year to refuse its original plans.

The housebuilder submitted a planning application in November last year which was refused by Stafford Borough Council’s planning committee in April. It says the majority of the revised application – which will be submitted to the borough council soon – remains the same, including the number of houses.

A leaflet delivered to people living near to the land (between Eccleshall Road and Common Lane) says: “In resubmitting the application, additional supporting information has been included to address the reason for refusal, including further assessment of the council’s recently adopted policies, and more detailed analysis of the amenities and infrastructure available for Stone.”
