Plans for new fire station go on view

You can view the plans for Stone’s brand new community fire station and speak to the team behind the project at an an information session in the town on Tuesday 24th July.

The session is being held at the fire station between 6pm and 7pm, where residents can speak to the team leading the building project, as well as station staff. Light refreshments will be available.

Project manager Norma Putman said: “The project is picking up pace now. We’d welcome residents to attend the session so we can share our plans and provide them with information as to how the construction phase of the project will be managed and what facilities will be on offer to them once the new community fire station opens. We look forward to giving the residents of Stone and surrounding areas a community fire station they can be proud of.”

The station is one of 11 community fire station in Staffordshire being rebuilt as part of a £50 million private finance initiative. Work is expected to get under way in spring 2013. The fire service recently revealed the private company that will be building them – click here for more details.
