Staffordshire Police are appealing for information after two motorcycle incidents in Stone during the early hours of Thursday 15 January.

Officers say there was an attempted theft of a motorcycle at The Crossings at around 3.00 am. A short time later, a second motorcycle was stolen from Lichfield Road.
The stolen motorcycle was later found burnt out in a park off Copeland Drive at approximately 4.30 am.
The incidents are being treated as linked, due to the timing and locations involved. Police are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen or heard anything unusual in those areas during the early hours.
This includes residents who may have doorbell cameras, CCTV, or dashcam footage that covers The Crossings, Lichfield Road, or routes between those locations and Copeland Drive.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Staffordshire Police on 101, quoting incident reference SP-20260115-0372. If a crime is in progress or there is an immediate danger to life, people should always call 999.
Alongside the appeal, officers have also shared advice for motorcycle owners in Stone and the surrounding area.
They recommend using visible security such as disc locks, chains, or D-locks, ideally more than one at the same time. Where possible, motorcycles should be secured to a fixed object and parked in a well lit, visible area or in a garage.
Using a cover can also help keep a bike out of sight, while alarms, immobilisers, and tracking devices can add another layer of protection. Owners are also reminded to always remove keys and avoid leaving spare keys nearby.
Police say motorcycle theft often happens quickly and quietly, particularly during the early hours, and preventative measures can make a real difference.
