Police appeal for information following Stone pub fight on Sunday

Staffordshire Police are appealing for information following a disturbance in a town centre pub’s beer garden just before 10pm on Sunday.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Police told A Little Bit of Stone:

“We were called to Station Road in the town just before 10pm on Sunday, the 14th July, after a fight broke out in a beer garden. We were also told a man had a knife.

Officers went to the scene and carried out a search. No knife was found.

Anyone with information or relevant CCTV, dashcam or doorbell footage of the area at the time can call 101, quoting incident 702 of 14 July, or message us using Live Chat on our website.

West Midlands Ambulance Service confirmed to us:

“We received multiple calls to the Crown and Anchor on Station Road, Stone, reporting an assault.

Two ambulances and a paramedic officer attended the scene. Two patients who had reportedly been assaulted had left the scene when crews arrived.

One woman, who suffered a medical episode unrelated to the assault, was assessed and treated by ambulance staff on the scene before being conveyed to Royal Stoke University Hospital for further care.”

In response, The Crown and Anchor have said:
“We have provided the police with all the assistance and information required regarding the unfortunate incident on Sunday evening after the England football game.”

  • This venue seems to have one too many “unfortunate incidents”!

    Assault is not an unfortunate incident but a criminal offence!

    One for the licensing authorities to take a look at I think…
