Police appeal for witnesses following a stabbing in Stone

Staffordshire PolicePolice detectives are investigating after a man was stabbed outside a service station in Stone in the early hours of Saturday 1st August 2020.

Staffordshire Police were called to Newcastle Road at 1.20 am on Saturday 1st August after receiving reports that a 45-year-old man had sustained a single stab wound.

The man was taken to the Royal Stoke University Hospital for treatment and has since been discharged.

Police are appealing for help in identifying the suspect who is described as white, in his mid 20s, with an athletic build and clean-shaven with light coloured hair. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a yellow T-shirt and beige shorts.

The suspect is believed to have left the scene in a black VW Bora and returned again around 20 mins later in a yellow or mustard coloured Seat Ibiza or a Renault Megane.

Officers are keen to hear from anyone who was in the area at the time or saw the vehicles described above.
