Police name Stone man charged following yesterday’s raids across the town

Staffordshire Police have issued an update on the charges and arrest details of those detained following raids across Stone.


We have charged a man after we carried out a series of warrants in Stone yesterday (Thursday 3 October).

Philip Baggley, 49, from Stone, has been charged with possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class A – MDMA, acquire/use/possess criminal property and possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class B – cannabis. He is due to appear at the North Staffordshire Justice Centre today (Friday 4 October).

Nine people, all from Stone, have been released on conditional bail as our enquiries continue:

• Two men, aged 33 and 36, and a 17-year-old girl arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of class A, require a person to perform forced or compulsory labour and conspire to arrange or facilitate travel of another person with a view to exploitation and possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class B – cannabis

• A 32-year-old man arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the supply of a Class A drug, require a person to perform forced or compulsory labour and conspire to arrange or facilitate travel of another person with a view to exploitation, possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class B – cannabis and being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug of Class B – cannabis

• A 30-year-old man arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled drug of Class A – cocaine, require a person to perform forced or compulsory labour and possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class B – cannabis

• Two men, aged 19 and 21, arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class A, require a person to perform forced or compulsory labour, conspire to arrange or facilitate travel of another person with a view to exploitation and being concerned in offer to supply a Class B drug

• A 55-year-old woman, arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class A, require a person to perform forced or compulsory labour and conspire to arrange or facilitate travel of another person with a view to exploitation, has been released on conditional bail

• A 17-year-old girl, arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class A, conspire to supply a Class A controlled drug, require a person to perform forced or compulsory labour and conspire to arrange or facilitate travel of another person with a view to exploitation, possession with intent to supply a controlled drug of Class B and conspire to supply a Class B controlled drug.

    The poor 17 year old was arrested on suspicion of being arrested on suspicion! Cut and paste doesn’t always work!
