A local women’s only walking group is starting the new year by looking back on a charity challenge and inviting new members to get involved.
Prosecco Trekkers was formed in 2022, after Covid, to help local women build confidence, reduce isolation, and enjoy walking together in a relaxed and supportive setting.
In September 2025, ten members of the group completed a ten mile coastal walk in Anglesey. The walk raised funds for Douglas Macmillan Hospice and Epilepsy, with the group keen to thank everyone who took part and those who donated.
Organisers say the walk was about supporting each other as much as covering the distance, with encouragement throughout the day helping everyone reach the finish.
As 2026 gets underway, Prosecco Trekkers is reminding women in Stone and the surrounding area that new members are always welcome. The group is aimed at those who may feel nervous about joining activities alone, or who simply want to walk and chat without pressure.

Hi Lisa we walk in and around stone one evening a week. We start at 615 and finish around 830 we do go for refreshment afterwards but this is optional. Weather depending we can walk up to 5 miles thanks
