Despite horrendous weather, a great turn out for the Phil ‘Skinny’ James charity cricket match ensured a successful fundraising event
A cricket match in August sounds like a great way to relax and spend a Sunday, chilling in the sunshine, watching the match with a nice cool drink in hand! However, this being England the weather gods rolled the dice and decreed that instead of being bathed in the sun’s rays we were all to be subject to rain!
This didn’t stop the many businesses and people getting involved in the event which raised thousands of pounds.
Lee James told A Little Bit of Stone:
“I really want to thank once again everyone who made an effort to come down & support the day even with the shocking weather!
“We still managed to raise a massive £4103 for The Dougie Mac!
“Thanks to the businesses and individuals who donated over 100 prizes and to everyone who sold tickets & helped on the day, we really couldn’t do it without your help.
“Phil would have been so so proud to see so many faces there having a great time in memory of him!
I look forward to seeing you all again next year ❤️🏏❤️”
