Baking fever has gripped the country as bakers battle it out on TV making Bakewell Tarts & Jaffa Cakes, and now you could have the chance to win a £50 luxury hamper by showing your own baking skills in a new charity competition.
With all proceeds going to local children’s hospice charity the Donna Louise Trust, Aston Marina’s charity bake off could give you the chance to be Star Baker. Entries cost £2.50 each and fall into 2 categories; 10 a flavoured savoury loaf; or 2) a sponge cake of your choice. Multiple entries are permitted. Pick up your sponsor form from Ason Marina’s Farm Shop & enter your creations in time for judging over the weekend of 22nd & 23rd October.
The entries will be judged on flavour & texture by the marina’s head chef directors and farm shop managers.
Director Helen Webb says; “Baking is a national obsession, and we pride ourselves at the marina on being cake and bread addicts – we believe it’s essential in making our baked goods as good as they can be! We’re proud to support the Donna Louise Trust and thought it would be fun to capitalise on baking mania by having a little fun whilst raising funds for this very worthy cause. The competition’s star baker will get to take home a luxury food hamper worth £50, packed with goodies that have been hand-picked from the shelves of our farm shop.”
