This year’s Stone Food and Drink Festival attracted around 17,000 people, making it the biggest event in the festival’s seven-year history.
The glorious weather saw people flocking into the town over the weekend to enjoy the farmers’ markets, the Gourmet Food Marquees at Westbridge Park and the many events staged by businesses.
Festival chairman Richard Stevens said: “It was the biggest party that Stone’s ever seen. The weather was glorious, which attracted record numbers into the town. Saturday’s attendance figure doubled any previous Saturday in the festival’s history. We’ve astounded ourselves to be honest!”

I see the Stone Post are right on the ball with their write up, apparently the Hairy Bikers were there and everything…

What?! Haven’t seen the Post this week yet…

Thanks to everyone who attended the Festival over the course of last week! I’m delighted everyone had such a good time.
I would however clarify the attendance figure quoted above. The figure is our calculation of thetotal number of visitors who came into town during the week of the Festival for all the diferent events that were taking place eg The Stepping Stone Trails; The Real Ale Trails; the Manger a Trois plus all the diferent festival events organised by local restaurants and pubs; the Farmers Markets on Friday and Saturday; and of course the Festival on Westbridge Park.

Hi Chris. I think you have to bear in mind that the food and drink festival is run totally by volunteers. It’s a community interest company which by its nature doesn’t make any profit. Having a festival of this size in the town requires funding, which is why there’s an admission charge into Westbridge Park. I’m sure your comments will be taken on board by the festival organisers. Glad to hear you’ll be going next year. Make sure you get an Enjoy card from Enjoy Staffordshire – it was two-for-one entry this year with one!!

Thanks for clarifying Richard 🙂
