
The annual parade and services of Remembrance at the war memorial in Granville Square, St Michael’s Church and in Walton will take place on Sunday 10th November.
The Service of Remembrance will be held at the Walton War Memorial in Whitemill Lane, starting at 9.50am.
Here are the timings for the services of Remembrance at the war memorial in Granville Square in Stone town centre and afterwards at St Michael’s Church:
10.15am Parade personnel will assemble at the bottom of the High Street
10.35am Parade will proceed up the High Street to the war memorial
10.45am Presentation of wreaths
11am Two-minute silence and Service of Remembrance
After the service at the war memorial, the parade will proceed to St Michael’s Church via High Street and Church Street, led by Stone Town Band. After a service at the church, the parade – led by Stone Scout and Guide Band – will assemble and proceed, via the High Street, to Market Square. The parade will then dismiss at the top of the High Street.
There will also be a short service at the Granville Square war memorial at 11am on Monday 11th November
On Saturday 9th November, Stone Choral Society will be hosting a concert of commemoration and remembrance at Christ Church. Full details HERE
