A Stone band that formed in the 1980s have reformed and released a cracking Christmas single.
CID’s ‘Christmas Santa’s Coming’ is going down a storm on YouTube and is available to download from the iTunes store. We love it at A Little Bit of Stone HQ and it’s gone straight on to our Christmas playlist – it sounds like the lost Christmas classic that Slade never released!
Sleigh bells? Check. Lots of those. Catchy melody with a sing-along chorus? Check. A festive video with lots of tinsel and Santa suits? Check again…
C.I.D where formed in the mid-80s by Chris Stone, Dave Ball and Martin Oliver and were later joined by Mark Welby Blood and Dava Rowe, who replaced Martin on drums. They played in and around Staffordshire, gaining a large and devoted following. A number of line-up changes over the years followed, but they haven’t really played together – until now – since 2002. They played a reunion gig at The Lamb in Walton back in May and now comes their Christmas single.
CID will be playing a Christmas party gig at The Cuckoo in Barlaston Road, Blurton, on Friday 19th December. Have a look at the CID Facebook page for lots more information about that, their Christmas song and the band in general.
