Today the news is about Triple-Tony Award winner Jason Robert Brown’s Songs for a New World which is coming to Stone in March!
Songs for a New World takes us on a vibrant, thrilling and moving journey through the life-changing moments that define us. Far from a traditional musical, we see each character only once either at a point of decision, a moment of discovery or a regretful reflection. From a woman threatening to jump from a window on the 57th floor to two ex-lovers realising that they can’t live without each other, the audience are transported across the globe through a collection of unforgettable songs which weave characters, locations and time periods together in to one extraordinary evening.
“It’s about one moment. It’s about hitting the wall and having to make a choice, or take a stand, or turn around and go back.” Jason Robert Brown
With a musical score taking influence from gospel, soul, jazz and blues the vocally challenging songs and harmonies really can make the soul soar.
“This is a very special musical which is so rarely performed. I saw it for the first time knowing nothing but was immediately captivated by everything this musical is about and it has stayed with me ever since” Harri Bailey, Co-Director.
Don’t miss out on this chance to see Brown’s sensational musical bought to life!
