The Liberal Democrats have chosen Penkridge North & Acton Trussell district councillor Sam Harper-Wallis to contest the new Stone, Great Wyrley & Penkridge constituency at the next General Election.

This latest announcement follows announcements about Sir Gavin Williamson (Conservative) and Jacqueline Brown (Labour) being selected by their respective parties for the next general election.

“Sam was selected following a rigorous selection process and has vowed to campaign for a better deal for the communities that make up the Stone, Great Wyrley & Penkridge constituency.”

Councillor Sam Harper-Wallis commented,

“More and more people are turning to the Liberal Democrats as a positive choice for a fairer society, and I am looking forward to continuing to work with local residents to get action on the issues that matter most to them. Improving access to health services is a key priority for me, alongside protecting our precious greenbelt from inappropriate development.

As a local councillor, my priority is to make a positive difference for the community where I live, and as a parliamentary candidate, I will do the same for all of Stone, Great Wyrley and Penkridge ’s communities.”

Sam Harper-Wallis continued, “For too long, our communities have been taken for granted by the Conservatives, and many people are understandably hungry for change. I’m determined to offer residents an alternative to more years of Tory neglect and an unappealing offer from Labour locally and nationally.”

He has consistently advocated for the interests of local residents. Sam lives with his wife in Penkridge and works as project manager in the technology sector.
