Santa sleigh tour returns with more nights across Stone this December

Stone’s much loved Santa sleigh tour is returning at the end of the month, and this year the team behind it are going further with eleven evenings planned across the town.

The familiar routes will be back, but this winter runs will be a little shorter. Organisers say this should help keep things manageable and avoid late finishes when younger children are already heading to bed.

Santa’s arrival has become a steady part of the build up to Christmas in many parts of Stone. People often wait out on their front drives or gather at the end of cul de sacs to hear the music before the sleigh turns the corner.

The group behind the sleigh say the aim for 2025 is simple. Keep the same places, keep the tradition going, but break the routes into smaller chunks so more families get a fair chance to see Santa without the timings drifting too far into the evening. GPS tracking will run nightly using the same system as last year so people can follow the sleigh on their phones as it moves around the estates.

  • Hi, I was on Aston Lodge 22nd Dec when the sleigh came past. Although I appreciate most kids love Santa , not all of them do. Does it have to be so loud? My autistic Grandson was very much disturbed and extremely upset by the level of noise especially as the sleigh stopped directly outside the house. It was so loud the noise was thrumming throughout the whole house. So please have a thought for those kids that struggle with anxiety, don’t celebrate Christmas and struggle to tolerate that level of noise.
    Thanks
