Stone High Street will be getting a second defibrillator thanks to AED Donate and a number of generous supporters.
A defibrillator was installed at the top of the High Street in October last year. A second one, at the bottom of the High Street, will now be put in place very soon after funding was received from Stone Rotary Club, Stone Festival, the town council and Griffins of Stone butchers in Adie’s Alley.
AED Donate’s fundraising, including the sale of their Lymestone-brewed Stone Revival ale, along with the donations has seen the £2,000 target reached.
Public access defibrillators are accessed using a code given after dialling 999. It then gives automated voice instructions so it can be used safely and quickly.

“The ambulance call assessor has the ability to talk any caller, defibrillator trained or not, from instructions on how to use the device as well as CPR techniques. The defibrillator itself also provides voice guidance throughout and a pictorial guide.”[/box]
Having defibrillators at either end of the High Street increases the chance of survival of someone suffering a cardiac arrest is hugely increased. Well done to AED Sales and all the supporters for making it happen.
