Stone Music and Arts Festival gets under way tonight, with a packed programme of gigs and events right until next Sunday.
A Little Bit of Stone will be out and about over the week getting pictures, audio and video and generally enjoying the music (not to mention The Swan’s beer festival, which is running all week alongside the music festival!). You can send your reviews, pictures, stories and whatever to musicfestival@alittlebitofstone.com or post them on the site’s Facebook page – there are over 1,000 people who like the page now.
The big weekend, Friday 13th to Sunday 16th, has so much live music in the town centre and at local venues, with a stage in Market Square on the Saturday and stages on Market Square AND the top of the High Street on the Sunday. Headline for the Saturday night is Slade tribute Slyde, with Take That tribute Retake That headlining on the Sunday.
If tribute bands aren’t your thing, there’s loads of local original talent playing in the town over the week. Look out for Murphys Marbles playing live with Dubliners legend Sean Cannon on Sunday morning, while singer-songwriter Ben Owen has organised a showcase of local young performers on the Saturday. Top Stone bands The Formula and Lost Scenes are also appearing.
There’s SO much going on and the best place to get up to speed with the full programme (if you haven’t got a printed copy that is) is at the official music festival website.
And don’t forget to share your photos and more at musicfestival@alittlebitofstone.com :)
