Signal down as winds damage mobile masts

signal

Lots of people in Stone are without a mobile signal after EE masts in the town were damaged in the strong winds on Wednesday evening.

Damage to the masts – on the Mount Road industrial estate and at a farm in Pirehill – has knocked out the signal for the EE (Orange and T-Mobile) and Three networks – leading to lots of very frustrated people. And it looks like the masts won’t be fixed until 22nd December.

One person on the Little Bit of Stone Facebook page wrote that EE said that they were hoping to get a field engineer out to the mast today. Hopefully, it will be fixed soon. Let us know if you’re on any other network and affected.

Here are a few examples:

Whitebridge Building Supplies Ltd: This has had a massive effect on our mobile phones for work today. Lads not being able to call when out on jobs & customers not being able to call us off their own mobile phones when out on site. Put a call into Orange & they have said they don’t know when it will be back up & running?!

Bethan Sedgwick Miles: My poor electrician had no signal since yesterday, and he’s on 24hr call out! Its affecting the small local businesses that we all try to support in Stone!

Ian Procter: EE/Orange/T-Mobile have mast sites at either end of Stone. North side around Stone Common and Whitebridge Industrial Park. South side up on top of Redhill. The organisation I work for are being told its mast problems at the North side of the Town. Try switching to 2G/GSM and/or turning off Mobile Data to see if that helps.
