Simba finds a loving home

Simba

The puppy who was abandoned at Downs Banks recently before being nursed back to health by staff at Shires Vets in Stone has found a new home.

The five-week-old pup – named Simba by Shires staff and thought to be a German Shepherd-Rottweiler cross – was found under a hedge by a family out for a walk at the beauty spot earlier this month. Staff said he was in a very bad state, barely weaned, and with open wounds.

After lots of loving care at Shires, Simba has now found a loving home – although staff at the Stone surgery were sorry to see him go!

They posted on their Facebook page today: “We were torn between keeping him longer and letting him go, but a vets’ surgery is not the best environment for him compared to a real home and family – and dogs to play with! The new owners have really ticked all the boxes and more… they are extremely knowledgeable, great dog lovers, have 2 German Shepherds already and a fantastic smallholding in the country. We have heard the female German Shepherd in the family is mothering him already which is lovely to hear – Simba missed out on so much in that respect.

“One thing is for sure – we will never ever forget our lovely little boy, and the impact he made in such a short space of time. Thank you everyone for all the kind comments, donations and support.”
