SOCATOTS South & East Staffordshire will be launching a brand-new Saturday class in Stone from October for children from walkers up to the age of five.
The programme was originally created by Simon Darcy Clifford in Brazil and is fun-based football specific playgroup. SOCATOTS use football as a medium to develop social skills, balance, co-ordination, gross motor skills, and also a range of numeracy, literacy and colour recognition skills.

Stone-born Chris Birchall, who currently plays for Port Vale and has previously played with David Beckham for LA Galaxy, as well as in a World Cup with Trinidad & Tobago, is a big fan of Socatots. He said: “The Socatots group is a superb, unique football programme. It’s not all about football, but balancing, co-ordination, number skills… the list goes on. It also gives you real quality time with your loved one, and you can see them develop in front of you. I would thoroughly recommend you pop along and try it.”
There will be a FREE taster session on Saturday 4th October at Alleyne’s Sports Centre in Stone from 9am. Classes are split into age groups, so booking is compulsory as there are limited places – the class will be running on a weekly basis.
