Soprano pitches in to help Stone Bells Appeal

Elinor Jane Moran will be performing in Stone

An award-winning soprano is performing at St Michael’s Church on Saturday 17th November to raise money for the Stone Bells Appeal, the fundraising campaign to get the bells at St Michael’s Church replaced.

Opera star Elinor Jane Moran returns to St Michael’s Church, accompanied by Christina Gill from the US. They will be singing light opera and songs from shows. The concert is in the church, starting at 7.30pm. Tickets are £12, in support of the Stone Bells Appeal, including a glass of wine and refreshments. Tickets are available at Home and Colour on the High Street and at the door.

Award-winning soprano Elinor studied at the prestigious Chetham’s School of Music, Manchester, and London’s Guildhall School of Music and Drama. She has performed in operas, oratorios, concerts, and recitals in a variety of venues including London’s Royal Opera House Linbury Theatre, Cadogan Hall, and Royal Albert Hall. Elinor sang the principal role of Mimi in La Bohème (in the 2010 Olivier Award winning Opera Up Close production). As a soloist and member of the Gala Ensemble, Elinor sang on a number one selling CD of Gilbert and Sullivan Highlights.

Meanwhile, on Saturday 10th November there is a Table Top Sale at Walton Community Centre from 12pm to 2pm. Admission is 50p, which includes entry into a raffle for a Christmas Hamper.
