Staffordshire’s Business Intelligence Team is a candidate for scooping the Innovation of the Year title. The team has developed a programme that operates a gold, silver & bronze risk stratification system, which allows prioritising of those who are the most at risk when allocating appointments for ‘Safe and Well’ visits. The winner of this category will have improved safety measures, potentially leading to lives being saved and injuries reduced, produced significant cost savings or improved the provision of emergency response.
Another short-listed is the Learning and Development Team, which has become an accredited centre for a range of training and development programmes as well as an approved centre for the Institution of Fire Engineers. Their outreach to organisations including Jaguar Landrover, JCB and the Staffordshire Search and Rescue Team to provide training has earned them a nomination for Training Provider of the Year. The category will praise an individual, organisation or team that has delivered exceptional training for fire and emergency personnel. The winner will have demonstrated transference of learning, first-class feedback, organisational improvements directly linked to the training, innovation and best practice.
CFO Becci Bryant
CFO Becci Bryant said: “It is a real honour for the Service to have been short-listed for these prestigious national awards and I am extremely proud, both from a personal perspective as well as a professional perspective, that we have reached this stage in the competition. Staffordshire is an extremely innovative fire and rescue service and we are always striving to find more efficient and effective ways to make our communities safer while at the same time balancing the books. The teams and individuals who have been short-listed for the awards have already achieved a great deal as the calibre of entries from our colleagues across the country is always exceptional. It would be a privilege for members of the Service to be recognised as leaders on a national stage and I would like to congratulate all of Staffordshire’s nominees for their success on being short-listed and to wish them luck on December 2.”
