Statement on proposed roadworks in Stone

After roadwork signs were erected on the Eccleshall Road and Stafford Rd last week, we had several enquiries as to what the works would entail. We have now had the following response from David Williams, Cabinet Member for Highways and Transport at Staffordshire County Council:

“The resurfacing works being proposed at Stafford Road and Eccleshall Road are part of our preventative treatment programme which helps to extend the life of our roads and keep them in good condition.

“This work is usually carried out during the summer months when the weather is dry.  Crews are carrying out a large number of schemes across the county and it is not uncommon for the timings of some schemes to change.

“A final date for this work has not been confirmed yet, but when agreed, crews will do there upmost to get the work completed as quickly and efficiently as possible while minimising any disruption.  Access to businesses will also be maintained where possible throughout the works.”

The signs will be taken down whilst a new date is agreed.

Thank you to David Williams for the explanation re the Eccleshall Road closure.
I presume that you intended to write, “crews will do their upmost” ?
