Stoke City legends at Moddershall Oaks

The 1972 heroes with Moddershall Oaks staff

Heroes from Stoke City’s 1972 League Cup-winning team were at Moddershall Oaks on Monday to record an FA Cup Final preview for satellite sports channel ESPN.

Jimmy Greenhoff, Mike Pejic, Denis Smith and Terry Conroy had lunch at the luxury spa in Moddershall and walked around the grounds, all the while being filmed by ESPN reminiscing about the Potters’ teams of the 1970s and the current squad’s chances against Manchester City.

Hammersley’s bakery, meanwhile, have baked lots of gingerbread men in red-and-white shirts, as well as some giant ones that have taken pride of place in their High Street shop window. One of the giant gingerbread men is being raffled off at St Michael’s First School tomorrow!

Good luck to Stoke City on Saturday.
