Residents are being invited to drop in for a cuppa and a chat when Stone and District Scouts hold a community coffee morning next month.

The event takes place on Saturday 7 February at the 5th Stone Scout Hut on Common Lane in Walton, running from 9 am until 1 pm. Tea and coffee will be available throughout the morning and everyone is welcome to come along.
Organisers say the coffee morning is a chance for people to find out more about Scouting in the local area, ask questions, and meet some of the volunteers who help run groups across Stone and the surrounding villages.
The invitation is open to parents who may be thinking about Scouting for their children, as well as supporters, former Scouts, and anyone who is simply curious about what goes on behind the scenes. There is no formal programme and no pressure to sign up, just the chance to call in at a convenient time and have an informal conversation.
The morning is intended to be relaxed and family friendly, with leaders on hand to explain the different sections, from younger age groups through to older Scouts, and how volunteering works in practice.
Local Scout groups rely heavily on volunteers and community support, and events like this are seen as a way to open the doors and show what Scouting looks like locally, rather than just online or through leaflets.
Those attending do not need to book in advance and can stay for as long or as little time as they like.
The coffee morning runs from 9 am to 1 pm on Saturday 7 February at 5th Stone Scout Hut, Common Lane, Walton, Stone, ST12 9DQ.
