The carpet beds will use thousands of plants to create the designs, after Victoria Park re-opened a few months ago following a £2.5million national lottery-funded refurbishment which saw it’s carpet bed located to a new position near the bowling green.

Councillor Carolyn Trowbridge, Cabinet Member for Leisure at Stafford Borough Council said she hoped people would see the displays and remember the tremendous work of the health service and the British Legion.

She said: “I am very pleased that the wonderful Royal British Legion will have pride of place in Stonefield Park. The organisation has been a key partner of the council for many years offering tremendous support to serving and ex-serving personnel in our borough all year round.”

“The Victoria Park tribute is a gesture to say thank you for all those dedicated women and men in the NHS who have made incredible sacrifices especially over the last year in protecting our loved ones during the Covid-19 pandemic.

“The parks attract thousands of local people and visitors who spend many hours enjoying its beauty and facilities – and the carpet beds are always an attractive talking point. I am sure the latest creations will be very well received.”
