Stone’s home bakers are being invited to swap their kitchen counters for the famous white tent as applications are open for the next series of The Great British Bake Off.

Now in its seventeenth year, the much-loved Channel 4 show is on the hunt for the next batch of talented amateur bakers ready to impress judges Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood. From lemon drizzle loafs to picture-perfect pastries, producers are looking for people who bake for the love of it, not for a living.

Applicants must be aged 16 or over on Thursday 1 January 2026 and live in the UK. Professionals are out, but enthusiastic amateurs are welcome – whether your signature bake is a showstopping sponge or a slightly lopsided loaf.

To enter, visit the official application site before 1pm on Monday 15 December 2025. Budding contestants are asked to complete a form, include at least five photos of their bakes, and, if they fancy, upload a short video clip introducing themselves. Those who make it through the first round could be invited to an interview or audition, either online or in person.

The production team say they’re searching for bakers with real passion, energy and personality:

“We’re looking for people with a real passion for baking. Don’t worry if you’re not a great writer, just tell us as much as you can about you and your baking.

We want to hear what you’re good at, but also what you’re not so good at. We’re not expecting you to be brilliant at everything; this just helps us to get a clearer idea of what kind of baker you are.”

It’s a chance to follow in the footsteps of past winners and maybe bring a little bit of Stone to one of Britain’s most watched shows. So, if you’ve ever dreamt of a Hollywood handshake or think your Victoria sponge could hold its own, it might be time to turn up the oven and give it a go.
