In light of the Government Covid-19 lockdown restrictions being lifted, Stone Town Council have decorated the town’s High Street with bunting.
Stone Town Council has welcomed the relaxation of the strict rules imposed on all businesses in March and welcomes the fact that most of the High Street traders will soon be reopening.
To herald this news, Stone Town Council, working with old friends Paul Mitchell and his Christmas Lights company, got up early on Sunday morning (May 31st), to erect zig-zagged bunting across the length of the High Street.
Tourism and town promotion chairman town councillor Jill Hood said
“This gives a very clear message that Stone is ready for business. Back in early March General Purposes chairman Councillor Rob Kenney and I discussed with our town clerk putting the bunting up high in a zig zag this year as opposed to our usual display across shop frontages.
It will be more prominent and easier for passing motorists to see giving a very clear message that here in Stone we celebrate every day, what a fantastic town we have”.
