Stone candidates revealed for 2015 General Election

Six candidates will be contesting the Stone Parliamentary seat in the 2015 General Election.

Sitting MP Sir Bill Cash (Conservative) will be defending his seat against:

  • John Coutouvidis (Independent)
  • Sam Hale (Labour)
  • Andrew Illsley (UKIP)
  • Martin Lewis (Liberal Democrats)
  • Wenslie Naylon (Green Party).

We’ve asked all of the candidates to supply us with a personal pitch, and also to answer a list of questions – we’ll get their responses on to our website very soon. You can see the official notice of persons nominated for the election HERE. Polling day is Thursday 7th May.

  • This is an amazing article. #11 really struck a cord for me. “Social media is somewhere we live.” While I am very connected to my physical community, I find myself flourishing in my online community; making connections that go far beyond my four walls and grow to just as important to me as my relationships with the people next door and my family.

Why are there no cross boundary discussions about development. Cresswell and Cheadle are being inundated with applications just to hit the Staffs Moorlands targets when Stoke is struggling to attract businesses and affordable housing. It seems so ridiculous that Stoke is struggling whilst the Moorlands are being decimated, not just now but for the future. I want the Moorlands and Stoke-on-Trent to be places that people want to come to. At the moment neither areas will benefit.

Why do I know so little about all of you candidates (wjth the exception of Bill Cash) Get some information out asap. So that i may make an informed choice, even though we all know that Stone is a safe Conservative seat. Am i the only person to feel disenfranchised in this process?

    • Hi Pam. We’ve asked all of the General Election candidates (and the candidates for the Stone Town Council and Stafford Borough Council elections) to supply us with a personal pitch to the voters of Stone. They’ll be on the site very soon, so keep an eye out for them. We’re hoping they will be really useful for local people when deciding where to cast their votes
