Stone Carnival Week 2025 set to bring fun, food, and festivities to the town

After a low-key 2024 Stone Festival, the newly refreshed Stone Carnival and Festival team is back with a bang! This year’s Carnival Week promises an action-packed lineup of events, bringing the community together for a celebration of sport, music, food, and family fun.

Breaking down a week of festivities

The 2025 Stone Carnival Week kicks off on Saturday, 31st May, and runs through to Sunday, 8th June, with a variety of events catering to all ages and interests.

Football fever at Stone Old Alleynians

For sports enthusiasts, the week begins with the Adult 5-a-Side Football Tournament on 31st May, followed by the Junior 5-a-Side Tournament on 1st June. These competitive yet family-friendly matches offer a chance for local teams to showcase their skills. Entry fees are £20 per junior team and £30 per adult team, with food and drink available throughout the weekend.

Tractor run and family fishing day

On 1st June, two classic events return:

  • The Tractor Run, starting at the George & Dragon pub in Meaford, where participants can enjoy a scenic ride with fellow tractor enthusiasts. Entry is £10, which includes a hot bap, courtesy of the George & Dragon.
  • Family Fishing Day at Willows Pools, organised by the Stone and District Angling Club. It’s a chance for families to enjoy a peaceful day by the water. To book a spot, contact paul.walkden1@btinternet.com.

Motorbikes take over Stone High Street

On Tuesday, 3rd June, motorbike fans can look forward to the return of Two Wheel Tuesday on Stone High Street from 6pm. The event, supported by Griffins of Stone Ltd, features fantastic food from the Butcher’s Block van. No registration is needed – just head to the High Street and enjoy!

Warwick’s Funfair at Westbridge Park

Running from 4th – 8th June, Warwick’s Funfair at Westbridge Park guarantees thrills and excitement for the whole family. Expect classic fairground rides, games, and plenty of fun to keep the festival spirit alive.

An evening of mediumship

On 4th June, those interested in the spiritual side of things can attend a Mediumship Evening with Ruth James at Crown Wharf. Tickets will be available soon at £12.50 each.

Treasure hunt through Stone

On 5th June, the Walking Treasure Hunt is back to guide participants through Stone’s streets, offering a fun challenge for all ages. Registration starts at 5:30pm at St Dominic’s Social Centre, with an entry fee of £10 per team. This event is sponsored and organised by Stone Carpet & Flooring Ltd.

A feast for food lovers

On 6th June, Feast Stone – Carnival Edition takes over Stone Cricket Club, offering a delicious selection of food and drink vendors. Throughout the weekend, Vibe 1 will be keeping the energy high, announcing events and setting the tone for the festival celebrations.

The big weekend at Westbridge Park

Carnival Saturday – 7th June

The main event, Carnival Saturday, starts with the traditional parade from Alleyne’s and continues with a packed day of entertainment at Westbridge Park:

  • Live music from The Kilns and Citizen Stone
  • Interactive activities, including archery, penalty shoot-out, tug of war, line dancing, and face painting
  • Street food and drinks by Lymestone Brewery
  • A special performance from the Scouts Marching Band

Carnival Sunday – 8th June

The week concludes with Carnival Sunday – Family Day, featuring a variety of exciting activities:

  • Steeplechase and Dog Derby
  • Dog Show, sponsored by Purely Dogs
  • Circus activities with Kevin’s Community Circus
  • Alpacas from Knightley Alpaca Trekking (£3 per walk)
  • Picnic area with ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’ themed activities and a bouncy castle
  • Performances by Rooftop Studios and Morris Dancing from Stafford Morris
