Stone Carnival Week is set to return in 2026, and organisers are now appealing for local people to help make it happen.

A new call for volunteers is asking residents to give around three hours a week to support the planning and delivery of the long running community event. The roles include admin support, event planning, marketing and social media.
Carnival week has been part of the town’s calendar for decades. From parades through the High Street to events across Westbridge Park and Crown Meadow, it has traditionally drawn families, schools, clubs and businesses together.
Now, with plans for 2026 under way, organisers say they need more hands on deck.
The poster highlights opportunities to gain experience in event management and administration, develop marketing and organisational skills, and meet new people as part of a dedicated team.
Stone Carnival Week 2026 is being billed as a refreshed chapter for the event, with organisers keen to bring in new ideas while keeping the community spirit that has defined it over the years.
Anyone interested in getting involved can email sponsorship@stonecarnival.org or message the Stone Carnival team via Facebook.
