Cullens in Stone is the only restaurant in Staffordshire to have made it into the prestigious 2016 Good Food Guide. So you can be sure that you’re going to get the finest food when you dine there over Christmas.
Not really surprising when you consider chef Richard Cullen’s pedigree. He was Staffordshire Young Chef Of The Year in 2006 and Staffordshire Master Chef in 2008 and 2013. He also appeared on BBC’s Masterchef The Profesionals in 2009 and was a finalist in Gordon Ramsey scholarship competiton 2008, as well as making the top 10 in 2013’s Roux Scholarship competition. Richard has worked at The Dorchester London, Gordon Ramsey at Claridges and Hibiscus in Ludlow.
His Christmas menus are therefore pretty impressive.
There’s a festive lunch and festive dinner menu, and Cullens will be open on Christmas Day for an extra special seasonal sitting.
Delights in the festive menus include:
- a sweet potato starter with ameritti biscuit, sage and parmesan
- stuffed breast of free range turkey with Brussel sprouts, smoked bacon and sage butter, bourbon-and-maple-glazed baby parsnips, Christmas crumble and roast turkey jus
- Kir Royale – lemon meringue ice cream, blackcurrant sorbet, dark berries, meringue, viola flower, candyfloss, champagne foam and popping candy (like something Willy Wonka would have created!)
