Thousands of people were in Stone High Street on Thursday night for the switching on of the town’s Christmas lights. There was lots of live music – including the Stone schools combined choir, Christ Church Academy pupil Holly Smith and EverYoung (who switched on the lights with town mayor Jill Piggott), fairground rides, food stalls – and a brilliant atmosphere.
Lots of Stone charities and organisations had stalls too, including the Rotary Club, who were raising funds for the Shelter Box appeal to send aid to the Phillipines following the devastating typhoon that has so far claimed over 3,000 lives. You can find out more and donate online HERE
