Stone Dominoes Ladies Reserves 3 – Wyrley Ladies Reserves 3
The Dominoes were still looking for their first points of the season, visitors Wyrley were sat 3rd from bottom. The Dominoes started brightly and striker Alex Walker caused havoc with her pace up top, linking with right winger Chloe Luty, walker came close to getting the first goal of the game. However soon after, Stone switched off and allowed a Wyrley player to dribble through and fire home to make it 0-1. Dominoes responded well and straight after kick off, Chloe Luty beat the offside trap, outpacing all the defence and slotted the ball home 1-1.
The game was even with both sides having possession, Stones two centre halves Sofia Wojiuk and Jodie Flowers stood strong and cut out most long balls from Wyrley. However soon again, Wyrley struck again making it 2-1. Stone continued to battle all over the pitch and on the stroke of half time, Chloe luty ran onto a through ball from Maria Birkett, Luty took it wide right and again slotted it in the narrow angle 2-2.
Second half saw the Dominoes with a new found confidence, passing the ball easily around the tiring Wyrley side. However again, failed to track back and gave Wyrley their 3rd of the game making it 2-3. Again from kick off a long through ball for Chloe Luty to run on to happened. Luty smashed the ball into the back of the net giving stone the equaliser.
The last 15minutes could have gone either way, Wyrley created numerous chances but the defence worked hard, Goalkeeper Rach Humphreys controlled the box and the midfield battled with or without the ball.
Final score 3-3 with Chloe Luty getting the player of the match award for her hatrick. This was the reserves first point of the season, a great achievement since making the step up from junior football to open age ladies.
