Stone Festival 2023 – find out what’s on this years bill!

Stone Festival Clown LogoWith June just around the corner, the town is abuzz with anticipation for the Stone Festival 2023, which runs from Saturday 3rd June to Sunday 11th June.

For 2023, things are having to change due to the redevelopment of Stone’s Westbridge Park. Don’t worry though, in place of some of the displaced events are new and exciting events for the whole family.

This article will give you a flavour of some of what’s on, but the full guide can be seen on the Stone Festival website – https://www.stonefestival.co.uk/programme_2023.html

One of the stand-out events is sure to be Two Wheel Tuesday. Last year, hundreds of bikes roared into town, turning Stone High Street into a two-wheel paradise. This year, they’re hoping to see even more enthusiasts from Stone and beyond join the event on Tuesday 6th June from 6pm – and the best part? It’s free to attend!

But the festival isn’t just about spectacles and watching things; it’s about participation too. Our town is bursting with talent, and what better way to showcase it than at Stone’s Got Talent? Whether you’re a performer or prefer to watch from the sidelines, come down to Market Square from 1pm to 4pm on Saturday 10th June where you’ll find me on the judging panel!

Speaking of community spirit, the Stone Festival wouldn’t be possible without the myriad of local groups and volunteers who pour their hearts and souls into making the festival a success. Their dedication ensures a diverse programme, from the Teddy Bear Picnic and Puppet Shows on the opening Saturday through to the Historical Talk about Stone & the Trent & Mersey Canal, and even a Freemasons Open Evening. There truly is something for everyone.

It’s not all just fun and games, though. The Stone Festival is also about giving back. Each year, the festival raises money for local good causes. You can contribute by buying tickets for the Stone Festival £1,000 Grand Draw or simply by attending events. Remember, every ticket you buy, and every event you attend contributes to the betterment of our community.

So, let’s get out there and enjoy the festival! Whether you’re an avid fisher looking forward to the Family Fishing Day, a dog lover eager for the Dog Derby and Steeplechase, or a comedy fan waiting for Comedy Night, there’s a place for you at the Stone Festival. And who knows? You might even discover a new passion at one of the many taster sessions, from Hockey to Golf.

Keep your eyes on the Stone Festival website for more information about each event. There’s also information for anyone who wants to get involved, whether that’s as a visitor, sponsor, or volunteer. The Stone Festival is more than just a series of events – it’s a testament to what we can achieve when we come together as a community.

Here’s to a week of fun, laughter, and shared experiences. See you at the Stone Festival 2023!
