A Stone Firefighter was recognised by Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service for his long service on February 28 2017, along with 13 others from the Staffordshire region.

Firefighter James Williams, from Stone Community Fire station, received his medal from Vice Lord Lieutenant Graham Stow CBE DL, and certificate from Councillor Stephen Sweeney, Chairman of the Stoke-On-Trent and Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Authority at the ceremony.
The Long Service Award is presented to members of Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service who have completed 20 years’ continuous service. The Long Service and Good Conduct Medal also presented at the ceremony is awarded to members of the Service who have completed 20 years’ operational service and have demonstrated, during this period their good conduct, loyalty and devotion to duty.
