Stone football team scores a fundraising boost

A football team in Stone which encourages local people to get more active within the community has been backed with a grand donation from a West Midlands housebuilder.

Old Alleynians Walking Football has been awarded £1,000 from Persimmon Homes West Midlands as part of its Community Champions scheme, with the donation funding equipment and hiring fees.

Each month two groups in the region are chosen to benefit from a match-funded donation of up to £1,000 each.

Walking Football is a slower version of the game, providing opportunities for both the young and old. Sessions are designed to give less active people in the community the opportunity to continue playing football.
