Stone Guide leader Beth Beardmore heads to South Korea for World Scout Jamboree

Beth Beardmore - Scout LeaderBeth Beardmore, a Guide leader from Stone, will head to South Korea this summer to represent the UK and be part of the International Service Team (IST) at the 25th World Scout Jamboree.

The event will be hosted in Gunsan-si, South Korea, from August 1st to the 12th. During this time, young scouts from all over the world will gather to learn new skills, experience new cultures, and make international bonds.

As part of the IST, Beth will live and work alongside fellow Scouts from nearly every country in the world as they support the 50,000 young people attending the event. She will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including helping to set up and run activities, providing first aid, and resolving disputes.

Beth said she is “very excited” to go to South Korea and meet people from all over the world. She said: “Volunteering at events like this is an amazing opportunity to support young people from around the world to participate in adventures they’re not had before.”

The World Scout Jamboree is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for young people to learn new skills, make new friends, and experience different cultures. Beth is a fantastic role model for young people in Stone, and we are all very proud of her for being selected to represent the UK at the Jamboree.
